Why do you think INHOPE is important?

It is our fundamental obligation to protect children both offline and online and through INHOPE we are able to help eliminate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from the internet. INHOPE allows us to support and advocate for children's rights in Colombia and the Latin-American region.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for INHOPE in the next five years?

I think it is really important for INHOPE to have a global perspective because, with the increase of internet access, even the most rural, isolated or poor communities have the technologies to exploit and sexually abuse children. We must be present in countries where there are fewer resources, commitment and knowledge of eradicating CSAM and protecting children in digital environments.

Why did you decide to become a part of the INHOPE board?

Being a hotline in a developing country that deals with reduced local support or for example, having few witnesses or victims coming forward to report a crime, because of social tolerance of an issue - gives us a distinctive voice and knowledge that we can shed light on for members and the public.

What is your vision for the future?

To be a worldwide association of diverse hotlines united by the same purpose of putting children at the forefront of our work.

If you could change one thing about the internet, what would it be?

It is imperative to build a safer environment that prioritises the protection of children because the internet is a fully integrated aspect of young people's lives.
