The Internet offers fun and instant access to information and entertainment, but the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI) brings darker sides. AI has become a powerful tool for those who exploit children online.

Observations from the International Center “La Strada” Moldova show that AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is becoming alarmingly sophisticated and realistic. This presents a new challenge to online child protection, amplifying abuse and complicating the identification of abusers and protection of victims. A collective response is urgently needed.

The National Reporting Service Siguronline Hotline, launched in Moldova through www.siguronline.md, plays a vital role in this fight. Developed and operated by "La Strada" Moldova, it offers a secure platform for reporting abusive online content.
