SID 2025: Siguronline Hotline Encourages Reporting

The goal of the SID 2025 campaign launched by the International Center La Strada, operating the Siguronline Hotline, was to combat existing stereotypes and prejudices regarding the viewing, distribution, and production child sexual abuse material (CSAM), as well as to encourage a responsible and proactive attitude towards reporting such materials to the relevant authorities and available services.

The campaign was launched through a press club called "Let’s Talk About CSAM" aimed at raising awareness and informing journalists, bloggers, influencers, partners, NGOs, and others about the phenomenon of online child sexual abuse and to initiate discussions about the existing stereotypes surrounding the viewing, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse materials.

As part of the campaign, five vox populi-type video were created to explain what is CSAM and the illegality of any actions related to such content. The messages were directed at the general public to inform them about the illegality of the non-consensual distribution of intimate images, as well as the viewing, distribution, and access to illegal child sexual abuse materials. Additionally, digital cards designed to address and counter the most common stereotypes related to the viewing, distribution, and access of CSAM were developed and promoted.

The campaign aimed to educate a wide audience, including journalists, bloggers, influencers, and the general public, about the realities of CSAM and its serious legal consequences. By encouraging reporting and providing information about the available services, the campaign sought to promote a proactive stance in the fight against child sexual abuse online.
