Dare to ask for help! - Hungarian Internet Hotline Launches new Media Campaign

The Internet Hotline (IH) legal advisory service has launched a national media campaign aimed at raising awareness and providing education. The goal is to help parents and children quickly recognise online abuse, encourage them to seek help if needed, and inform them of where they can turn for support.

This campaign is primarily targeted at parents, as it is crucial for them to identify when their child may be a victim of online abuse. It aims to empower parents to know where to seek help and feel confident in asking for assistance. IH will engage with parents through various digital platforms, while also supporting the campaign with editorials and interviews in print, radio, and online media to offer deeper insights into the issue.

Equally important is reaching out to children, young people, and other key stakeholders. Recognising the media consumption habits of those under 18, IH will collaborate with influencers, particularly on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. These influencers, who are already familiar with the dangers highlighted in the campaign, will use their online presence to amplify the message to a broader audience, encouraging them to “Dare to ask for help!” (in Hungarian: #merjsegitsegetkerni).
