Finnish hotline Nettivihje Publishes Annual Report 2025

In 2025, Finnish hotline analysed a total of nearly 900,000 images and videos, of which nearly 655,000 were assessed as containing material evidencing child sexual abuse. The total amount of material analysed increased by 43 percent from 2024, and the amount of material evidencing child sexual abuse increased by 40 percent from the previous year.

In 2025, Finnish hotline received 20,004 reports regarding suspected child sexual abuse. Of these, 6% contained material evidencing child sexual abuse.

83% of the reports had already been removed from the internet at the time of evaluation. The material was highly likely to be evidence of child sexual abuse, as most of it came from another hotline in the INHOPE network. The Finnish hotline received 141 reports of suspected activities related to child sexual abuse, such as grooming, and the distribution or possession of CSAM.

Proactive efforts addressed 3,661 images or web addresses depicting sexual abuse of children. In addition to hotline work, Finnish hotline’s experts trained 2,136 professionals, met with 3,598 guardians at online parent evenings, and reached over 200 decision-makers and authorities.
