Communications Intern, joined INHOPE in April 2023
Why did you move to the Netherlands?
I was offered the opportunity to relocate to Amsterdam, and I thought it could be a valuable life experience. At first, I was hesitant, but now I'm glad I took the chance. I've fallen for the sense of freedom this city offers, and I'm grateful for all the international friends I've met. Moving out of my comfort zone has been rewarding in so many ways.
Why do you work at INHOPE?
During my time at an advertising agency, I had the chance to work for NGOs and embassies. While I enjoyed the creative freedom associated with our commercial clients, I felt more driven while working on communication strategies in migration, or writing copy on human rights. It made me realize that it was crucial for me to join a mission with a significant positive impact on the world. And now, I'm proud to be part of a team that fights to free the world of CSAM.
How has your background shaped who you are?
My upbringing in Albania has had a profound impact on my character and values. I’ve seen first-hand the obstacles that women and children face in terms of their rights and safety due to a judgmental patriarchal society. I learned early on to be patient, be selective in choosing battles, and stand up against injustice.
What do you do outside of office hours?
In my free time you can find me reading, hosting dinners for my friends or cycling around town.
