Save The Children, Denmark
Save the Children works alongside the Danish National Police and
within INHOPE to prevent sexual abuse of children online and to
stem the flow of child-abuse images on the internet. We work in
three ways: hotline operation, awareness raising efforts, and advocacy.
Hotline operation: The hotline handles around 300 reports every
month concerning potentially illegal child abusive content, we
contribute to the Danish blocking system as well as the INHOPE
and Interpol databases.
Awareness raising efforts: Save the Children is a part of the Danish
Safer Internet Centre. We offer tools and information for schools
and parents concerning safe use of the internet at the website
www.sikkerchat.dk. We educate social workers and online providers
about online sexual abuse of children and we contribute to the promotion
of the Danish helpline for potential sexual offenders www.brydcirklen.dk.
Advocacy: Save the Children works for positive changes at political
level, e.g. by publishing reports about sexual abuse online and
participating in the European NGO Alliance for Child Safety Online

Let’s all practice zero tolerance to child sexual abuse imagery. One report can make a difference. To the digital citizens out there, if you stumble across anything you suspect to be a child sexual abuse image or video, do the right thing, report it and once confirmed, with our industry and law enforcement partners, we will make sure such content is taken down as quickly and effectively as possible.
