INHOPE Integrated Reporting System ("Hotline in a box") - Released

INHOPE over the past two years has developed and deployed the INHOPE Report Management System (IHRMS) which allows Hotlines to upload information on reports received to a central database. INHOPE is the International Association of Internet Hotlines with 41 Hotlines in 36 countries.

To allow for more effective Hotline integration into the IHRMS, INHOPE is pleased to announce the release of the INHOPE Integrated Reporting System (IIRS). During development this had as a project name ‘The Hotline in a box’ and it is aimed at present and future members of the INHOPE network. The IIRS combines all the functionality of the existing INHOPE Report Management System and has the added functionality required for the efficient reporting of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) found on media other than the World Wide Web. It also facilitates the reporting of illegal content other than CSAM.

The application is web based to facilitate remote maintenance and has relevant in-built security features. It allows member Hotlines to report content, progress and monitor the elements necessary for the removal of content and to collate timely, meaningful & useful statistics. The system is designed to allow the integration of future technologies that may become available.

The core system is generic and will respond to the vast majority of member Hotline requirements, however it is possible for the system to be tailored or adjusted to suit the specific requirements of certain Hotlines.

Over the coming months this system will be rolled out and implemented in the relevant Hotlines across the globe. The IIRS is another element in the integrated approach of using new technologies to allow Hotlines and INHOPE to be more effective and efficient in combating online Child Sexual Abuse Material.

The development of the IIRS was partly funded by Microsoft. This was as a contribution in their fight against the proliferation of CSAM.
